Evaluations for Turkish Health Sector in the Process of Conformity and Accession to the European Union. Ankara, July 2005 (in Turkish) Eds: Hasan Hüseyin Yıldırım, PhD & Türkan Yıldırım, MSc The book has been published by the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, which is one of the most influential NGOs in Turkey. The book includes six scientific studies that comprise five research studies and one theoritical study. the data of four research studies were gathered by a questionnaire between January and June 2003 in Turkey. The questionnaire was applied to key informants who were related with the EU and health policies in Ankara and Istanbul cities, Turkey. The questionnaire included key questions about health reforms in Turkey regarding the EU dimension, the possible implications of free movement on health sector, possible challenges and needs in the health field, and solutions concerning the EU process. the fifth research study was conducted using the WHO HFA Database 2004. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method was used to determine efficiency performance of health systems of member and candidate countries of EU. |
